Annual meeting – Industry Energy Equinor

Industry Energy Equinor held the annual meeting in Sandnes 18.-19. April. More than 70 employee representatives have debated and voted on agenda items during these two days.

Time was allocated to get information on the present strike, and a united annual meeting supports those now fighting for reduced gaps between workers! Frode Alfheim, Chairperson Industry Energy visited the annual meeting and informed about the present struggle, as well as giving us an insight into the merger process (link) with the union FLT.

LO secretary Are Tomasgard visited the annual meeting, talking about the energy demand and the work needed to make the necessary changes. Are gave us an inspiring contribution and lifted us to a higher competence level than earlier!

Jannicke Nilsson, EVP SSU, joined us for a presentation on the safety and security work in Equinor. There is an acknowledgement that operational leadership must be reinforced and the audience gave crystal clear feedback that the operational leaders must be allocated sufficient time for leadership purposes in order to follow up all requirements.

Day 1 was completed with a celebratory dinner where chief negotiator Siv Solem gave a speech expressing the importance of the collaboration model that Equinor adheres to, ensuring both corporate and local relations and liaisons.

True to tradition, this year’s Activity Award was issued – now awarded to two of our local unions at Kristiansund and Sture/Kollsnes. The annual meeting greets the winners and is looking forward to more information on the local member activities!

Day 2 contained more annual meeting agenda items, a.o. a statement to be sent to Equinor management on office landscape noise issues.

Per Martin Labråthen was unanimously re-elected as Chairperson Industry Energy Equinor, and the annual meeting also completed elections of employee representatives with specific tasks. Greetings and good luck in all these important positions.

The two days included many issues and good debates, as well as gathering many gifted employee representatives – all of whom contributing to do even better for the members at the workplace.
